Privacy Policy

Effective May 22, 2026 Last updated May 22, 2026

ground is built so we can't see your practice. Your favorites, notes, and settings are stored only on your device. We have no accounts, no servers, and no way to know what you reflect on. The long version below explains exactly how.

Who runs ground

ground is made by Clay Studio LLC, a small studio based in Austin, Texas. We make a small number of apps with care, and we'd rather not know things about you that we don't need to know.

For any question about this policy or your data, write to privacy@claystudio.app.

What stays on your device

When you use ground, your favorites, any notes or reflections you save, and your settings are stored on your phone using iOS's standard local storage. That data:

You can export a copy of your saved content at any time from ground's settings. We recommend doing this before you replace or reset your phone.

What we collect

Nothing personal in the app. ground does not collect, request, or receive:

We don't run accounts, logins, or user databases. There is nothing for us to "have" about you, because nothing reaches us.

The website

The groundpractice.app website is a simple introduction to ground. It includes a waitlist signup form. If you submit your email there:

The website does not use cookies, analytics, or third-party trackers.

Subscriptions and payments

ground offers paid subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase, all through Apple's App Store. When you subscribe or purchase:

Subscription terms, auto-renewal, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple under your agreement with Apple, not with us. To manage or cancel a subscription, open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

Crash reports

If you've left "Share With App Developers" enabled in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send Clay Studio anonymized reports about app crashes and performance. These reports:

You can turn this off at any time in your iOS Settings. We do not use any third-party analytics tools — no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Firebase, nothing of that kind.

Tracking

ground does not track you across apps or websites. We don't ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because we have no tracking to do.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, most data-rights requests aren't applicable to Clay Studio. To be specific:

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or anywhere else with data-rights laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and others), the rights granted by those laws apply. In practice there's no data on our side for us to act on — but if you have questions, write to privacy@claystudio.app.

Children

ground is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided information through ground, please contact us — though as noted above, no personal data reaches Clay Studio.

International users

ground is available worldwide through the App Store. Because no data is transmitted to Clay Studio, no international data transfers take place as part of using ground.

Changes to this policy

If we change how ground handles data, we'll update this policy and the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Substantial changes will also be noted inside the app before they take effect.
